Looking for a Zerion alternative? Here's how the two tools compare on features, privacy, and pricing.
What Zerion does well
Zerion is a self-custodial wallet and portfolio tracker rolled into one app. You can track balances, DeFi positions, NFTs, and unclaimed rewards across 50+ chains, then swap or bridge tokens without leaving the app. For active DeFi users who want everything in one place, it works well.
The UX is clean. Users on Trustpilot and the App Store consistently praise the interface and customer support. The free tier gives you full portfolio tracking with no subscription required. You only pay if you want Premium features like CSV export, portfolio-wide P&L, or discounted swap fees (0.4% instead of 0.8%).
The wallet is open-source and has been audited by multiple security firms with a public bug bounty through Immunefi. For a non-custodial wallet, that's a strong trust signal.
That said, App Store reviews mention swap reliability issues (pending orders that don't resolve), on-ramp delays, and WalletConnect friction. Trustpilot flags unreceived crypto purchases and notes that Zerion hasn't replied to some negative reviews. Worth checking recent feedback.
Where UpdraftFi is different
Built for net worth tracking
We show you your complete financial picture: crypto, DeFi, exchanges, plus traditional assets like bank accounts and real estate. If you want one private crypto portfolio tracker that shows everything you own, that's us.
Beyond crypto wallets
UpdraftFi tracks EVM wallets, native Bitcoin, Solana, exchange balances, bank accounts, real estate, and custom assets. One place for everything, not just on-chain tokens.
Historical net worth snapshots
UpdraftFi takes daily snapshots and builds a historical timeline of your net worth. You can see how your portfolio has changed over weeks, months, or years, not just what it's worth right now.
Privacy architecture
These two tools take fundamentally different approaches to security. Here's how they compare:
| Data | UpdraftFi | Zerion |
|---|---|---|
| Balance snapshots | Zero-knowledge (we cannot decrypt) | On-chain (public by nature) |
| Private keys | Not applicable (read-only tracker) | Local device storage |
| Security model | Zero-knowledge encryption + server-side | Self-custody + audited open-source |
| Can move funds | Swaps only (via connected wallet) | Full wallet (send, swap, bridge) |
Different models for different needs. Zerion is a non-custodial wallet: your private keys stay on your device, and the code is open-source and audited. That's solid security for a wallet. But on-chain balances are inherently public, and the app collects usage analytics as described in their privacy policy.
UpdraftFi takes a different approach: your balance snapshots are encrypted with keys derived from your passphrase. We can't see your net worth even if we wanted to. The trade-off is that we need to decrypt API keys to auto-fetch data, and we're not a wallet, so you can't send or bridge from UpdraftFi.
Which tool is right for you?
